The City of Columbus has boarded up a Linden home linked to several drug overdoses in the neighborhood. Police found heroin, crack cocaine, marijuana and firearms inside the home in the 9 hundred block of Duxberry Avenue. City officials are also trying to have a suspected drug house on Sullivant Avenue shut down as police and health officials search for the source of a dangerous batch of heroin mixed with another substance. Columbus Health Commissioner doctor Teresa Long says police and paramedics responded to nearly three-dozen overdoses between Tuesday and Wednesday morning, including two deaths.
Deputy Columbus Police Chief Ken Kuebler says cops had to scramble when the overdoses were reported.
The cases prompted authorities to issue a public health warning. Tests are underway to determine the identity of the other substance. Police are also looking for the distributors.
