Columbus Gang Member Takes Responsibility For 3 Murders

Columbus Division of Police

Authorities say a member of a decades-old central Ohio gang has taken responsibility for three previously unsolved murders.

Federal prosecutors say Robert Wilson III of Columbus is also admitting his involvement in a fourth killing to which he already pleaded guilty in state court. The government says the 27-year-old Wilson pleaded guilty Friday to one count of racketeering conspiracy connected with the Short North Posse.
The unsolved killings happened in April 2007, November 2007 and April 2008. Wilson faces 30 to 45 years in prison at sentencing, which hasn't been scheduled. Authorities charged 20 gang members in 2014 with multiple crimes including murder, drug trafficking and robbery. Several have pleaded guilty and a trial for others begins next month.
