The City of Columbus is giving a local health system a 6 million dollar tax break to build a new headquarters near the Route 315 and North Broadway interchange. OhioHealth plans to move or create 17 hundred jobs at the 12-acre site north of a Kohl's store and adjacent to an apartment tower. Some workers will be relocated from downtown, Westerville and Worthington. The city is giving the system the tax break and will fund related infrastructure improvements. Those could include an upgrade of the North Broadway off-ramp from 315. But Columbus Development Director Steve Schoeny says improvements are still under consideration.
OhioHealth got more than 2.25 million dollars from the city over an eight-year period to move its current headquarters from Victorian Village to downtown in 2006. Work on the new site is expected to be completed in the spring of 2019.
