Columbus Had Lowest Jobless Rate In July

The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services says Columbus had the state's lowest unemployment rate among major metropolitan areas last month at 6.3 percent. The rate fell by a tenth of a point from June. The Department says Union is the only county in central Ohio to see its jobless rate increase in July. Unemployment rates in Franklin, Fairfield, Delaware and Licking Counties all declined last month. Meigs County had the state's highest unemployment rate at 12.3 percent while Mercer County had the state's lowest rate at 4.5 percent.
