Statistics from voicemail provider YouMail show Columbus and central Ohio lead the nation in robocalls from bill collectors, politicians and other sources. Columbus led the nation in December with 68.9 million calls recorded. The company says reasons include the high number of central Ohio call centers for large financial institutions that handle credit cards for third-party retailers. The area also is home base for several telemarketers.
