Columbus Man Facing Charges In Maryland Wreck

Aug 17, 2012

Fire officials say a Maryland man was killed when his box truck collided with a tractor-trailer driven by a Columbus man on Interstate 95 near Baltimore on Thursday.

Baltimore City fire spokesperson Kevin Cartwright explains what happened.

(Cartwright: It appear that the tractor-trailer was carrying a load of lumber. It struck the barrier that separates I-95 and 395, ruptured its diesel saddle tanks, and erupted into flames.)

Cartwright says 35-year-old Abubaker Jamal of Columbus was the driver of the tractor-trailer that collided with the victim. Charges are pending.
