Sentencing is pending for a Columbus man who has pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in the death of his 8-year-old nephew last April. Prosecutors say 24-year-old Robert Broom decided to commit a drive-by-shooting, which led to the death of Jamarion Cox who was riding in the car with him. Broom changed his plea this week. Prosecutors say Broom, two other adults and two children were in the car when Broom fired at two men in front of a home. Cox was struck by a bullet when one of the men returned fire.
