A Columbus man will serve life in prison for his role in a fatal home-invasion style robbery. 33-year-old Michael Long was convicted of murder aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, kidnapping, attempted grand theft and assault. Prosecutors say Long's accomplice, 36-year-old Clement Cooper, was killed following a brawl with occupants of the Scales Drive home in July of last year. Prosecutors say the duo was attempting to steal weapons from the home. Long plans to appeal.
