Columbus, OH – In his 2007 State of the City speech, Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman said the city must have a new convention-style hotel downtown. This year, plans were announced to build such a facility near the convention center. In the latest installment of his end of the year interview with Jim Letizia, Coleman explains why the hotel is necessary and the deal with the county to finance construction in exchange for revenue to purchase new parking meters.
