Columbus Police Considering Re-Opening Probe Of 1975 Slaying
The Columbus police division's cold case squad is considering whether to reopen a nearly four-decades-old slaying.
14-year-old Christie Mullins was found beaten to death behind Graceland Shopping Center in 1975. A suspect was acquitted at trial two years later amid suggestions the wrong man had been arrested. Police will re-examine the case file for potential eyewitnesses, physical evidence or possible DNA. If police decide against a new investigation, the case will remain open but inactive.
