The Columbus police lieutenant who was recommended for termination by the chief has filed a lawsuit against the division.
Chief Kim Jacobs recommended Lieutenant Melissa McFadden be fired for allegedly creating a hostile work environment and violating federal employment laws. Those allegations resulted from an internal affairs investigation. The lawsuit claims the division retaliated and discriminated against McFadden, in part because she is black. Division officials have yet to comment.
