Columbus police officers shot and wounded a knife-wielding man after he refused to drop it inside a Heyl Avenue home last night. Officers responding to a report of a man threatening a woman with a knife ordered 40-year-old Randal Paden to drop it, but he moved toward them, according to police officials. They say Paden was shot after a taser proved ineffective. Paden is hospitalized in stable condition and is charged with domestic violence and assault.
