Columbus Priest Sentenced For Sex Crimes

A Greek Orthodox priest in Columbus was sentenced yesterday to six years in prison after pleading guilty to attempted rape charges.56-year-old Patrick Hughes, the former acting dean at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral on North High Street, was arrested last week by undercover Franklin County Sheriff's deputies after he posted an ad on a website that offers children for sex. Deputies picked him up at a location where he thought he was meeting a 9-year-old and a 14-year-old boy for sex. Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O'Brien says more charges are possible if any victims come forward. Hughes apologized in court yesterday during his sentencing.
