Columbus Veteran Undesirably Discharged For Being Gay Will Now Get Honorable Discharge

nytimes.com

A U.S. Army veteran from Columbus is receiving an honorable discharge a half century after he was discharged for being gay. 82-year-old Donald Hallman requested a reversal of his 1955 "undesirably" discharged status after President Obama repealed the military's "Don't Ask Don't Tell" rule in 2010. He will get the honorable discharge today.  Hallman served from 1953 to 1955.
