Corporate Columbus Backs Zoo Levy

Campaign finance reports show backers of the Columbus Zoo property tax levy on the May ballot have raised more than 500 thousand dollars, while opponents have spent nearly 21 thousand so far.The group Americans for Prosperity, backed by the Koch brothers and other wealthy individuals and corporations, has spent that money on mailers and other opposition work. The local opposition group called Citizens for Responsible Taxation has yet to file a report. Levy backers got large donations from major local corporations.
