County Dog Shelter Lowers Euthanization Rate

Fairfield County is getting closer to having a "no kill" dog shelter.

County officials say they've cut the euthanization rate to 17-percent over the past year, and a national no-kill threshold of ten-percent is within reach. The shelter has turned to lethal injections and is investigating new options to cut down on the number of euthanizations.
