Deal Ends Probe Of Schools Chief
Franklin Schools Superintendent Arnol Elam has agreed to pay the costs of his letter to parents and a new one saying he made some inappropriate statements about the Governor and some state lawmakers.
The deal ends an investigation by the Warren County Prosecutor into Elam's possible misuse of public resources for political campaigning. Elam had written parents last week urging them to join "an active campaign" to make sure Governor John Kasich and legislative allies are not re-elected. Elam is one of many school officials in some of the state's poorer districts upset about the governor's new school funding plan, saying it diverts money to weathier districts.
