Decline In Ohio Weekly Jobless Claims
The Labor Department says first-time claims for unemployment insurance benefits in Ohio fell by nearly 12 hundred last week due to fewer layoffs in manufacturing.
Ohio had the 9th greatest decline in the country. Claims nationally fell by 26 thousand last week to a seasonally-adjusted 323 thousand -- the lowest level in three months. 3.4 million Americans received benefits as of February 15th -- the latest period for which figures are available. 3.49 million got them in the previous week.
