Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine says he's prepared to sue the owner of the Columbus Crew SC if plans to move the team to Texas go forward.
DeWine issued a statement Thursday, saying a law passed in 1996 after the Cleveland Browns moved to Baltimore would apply to the Crew. The measure bans pro sports teams from moving if they play in taxpayer-supported facilities unless there's advance notice and an offer is made to the home city to buy the team. The statement was issued in response to State Representative Mike Duffey's call for DeWine to sue Anthony Precourt.
