DirectBuy gives consumers more time

Columbus, OH – A national membership club that features discounted home furnishings at six locations in Ohio - including Columbus - now gives consumers a three-day window to cancel their contract with the company. Indiana-based DirectBuy offers members a chance purchase a variety of products right from manufacturers for a fee that's based on the length of the contract. Intrigued consumers must visit one of the company's showrooms to find out full details and have to make a decision on whether to join following the session. Nearly 100 people filed complaints with the Ohio Attorney General's office prompting the company to change its policy and add the cancellation option. DirectBuy public relations manager Sara Shragal tells Mike Foley about the change.
