Elections Officials Say Vote Counting May Be Extended

Nov 1, 2012

The Ohio Association of Elections Officials says if the presidential race comes down to counting the state's votes, it could be a long wait to determine a winner.

Officials are bracing for a close finish that could be decided by thousands of provisional and absentee ballots that won't be counted until ten days after the election. A recount or lawsuits over provisional ballots would push declaration of a winner into December.
