Baby products maker Evenflo is taking 70 jobs from the Miami Valley.
The firm is moving its headquarters from Miamisburg to Boston, but will retain its accounting and legal departments. Parent company Goodbaby North America says the move is part of corporate restructuring. The move will begin in the summer and is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2019. Three years ago, Miamisburg officials secured a package of more than half a million dollars in tax breaks, including a forgivable loan of 400 thousand dollars and another 175 thousand in grant funds from Montgomery County, to upgrade Evenflo’s facilities. The funds were contingent on the company agreeing to meet hiring, payroll and other benchmarks. Miamisburg officials says it’s too soon to know whether the company’s pending relocation will impact the status of that agreement. Evenflo's manufacturing facility in Piqua will continue operations.
