Existing Home Sales Rose In May

Existing home sales increased on the local, state and national levels in May. The Columbus Realtors trade association says existing home sales in its multi-county region rose by nearly 18 percent over April, with more than 29 hundred properties changing hands. The group says sales this year are up 8.3 percent from this point a year ago. The Ohio Association of Realtors says existing home sales rose in May by 6.2 percent from the same month a year ago. The National Association of Realtors says existing home sales rose 5.1 percent from April to a seasonally-adjusted annual rate of 5.35 million. The group credits an improving economy and low mortgage rates.
