Experts Differ On Competency Of Man Charged In Fatal Downtown Columbus Crash

Two psychologists have reached different opinions on whether a motorist is competent to stand trial for a downtown Columbus crash that led to the deaths of two pedestrians last December. 62-year-old Terrance Trent has pleaded not guilty to vehicular homicide charges. One psychologist concluded Trent suffers from "disorganized and delusional thinking" and possibly dementia. A second psychologist deemed him competent for trial. The judge has declined a defense request for a third evaluation. That judge is handing the case off to another judge, who will decide the competency issue.
