Fake Biodiesel Makers Sent To Prison

Four people from have pleaded guilty in Columbus to federal charges of stealing more than 7 million dollars from  a government renewable fuels program by manufacturing fake biodiesel. The defendants are identified as Dean and Brenda Daniels, William Bradley, and Richard Smith. Prosecutors say the four conspired to produce biodiesel and sell it to other companies from 2010 through 2012. They then claimed  cash credits through the programs. Prosecutors say four companies, including Logan-based Chieftan Biofuels, were involved.
