Family Of Murdered Businessman Sues Louisiana Authorities

The family of a Sunbury businessman kidnapped in Mississippi is suing Louisiana State Police and the state corrections department because the alleged gunmen were trustees who escaped last year from a state police compound.The lawsuit says Ricky Wedgeworth and Darian Pierce should not have been allowed into the trustee program because they were sentenced for violent crimes. The lawsuit says that led to the murder of 53-year-old David Cupps. A Louisiana state police spokesperson says he cannot comment because he has not seen the lawsuit.
