Father Of DUI Victim Sues OHP

annieroonie.com

The father of a Chillicothe attorney killed in a drunken driving crash has filed a lawsuit in the Ohio Court of Claims, alleging a state Highway Patrol dispatcher failed to notify a trooper about a reported reckless driver before the crash. The lawsuit alleges the dispatcher and the patrol should have known such a failure could lead to harm. The driver was sentenced to eight years in prison for the July 2013 crash that killed 36-year-old Annie Rooney. The patrol has declined comment. State officials filed charges against the owner of a Chillicothe bar a few months later.
