Wikimedia Commons

Columbus Firefighters and American Red Cross members will be installing free smoke alarms and delivering safety information Saturday in the Franklinton area. The drive begins at 9am and will target West Broad Street north to the railroad tracks, between Stevens Avenue and Princeton Avenue. The Columbus Division of Fire says Franklinton has seen a number of fatal fires this year. The Division sends firefighters out to install smoke alarms in other areas of the city when requested at no charge.
