Fire Sweeps Through Ohio Village

Two firefighters were injured and 13 businesses destroyed by a fire that swept through a historic downtown block in northeastern Ohio.

More than 130 firefighters from 34 agencies battled the blaze Saturday in Garrettsville, a village of about 2,200 residents northeast of Akron in Portage County. Authorities say neither firefighter suffered serious injuries. Three of the four buildings involved were built in the 1800s. Portage County officials and the state fire marshal's office are investigating.
