Former Akron police Chief James Nice won't be able to work as an officer in the future after pleading guilty Tuesday to unauthorized use of a police data base.
A judge sentenced Nice to a 180 day suspended jail sentence, one year of community control, a 1 thousand dollar fine and the loss of his peace office certification. Nice illegally used a police database for personal reasons last year. He resigned under pressure last August amid allegations of interfering in an investigation of a relative and his use of racial slurs.
