A former Ohio State University offensive linesman has been charged with assaulting a police officer outside of a Dublin-area bar last Friday.
Delaware County Sheriff's deputies say bar management asked authorities to remove 33-year-old Kirk Barton because he was intoxicated, stumbling and knocking people over due to his size. Deputies escorted Barton to a taxi van without incident, but he couldn't provide his address. Deputies say Barton slammed the van's sliding door on a deputy's arm. Barton is scheduled to be arraigned late Friday.
