Former Buckeye Talks Recruiting

Columbus, Ohio – Wednesday was national signing day, when hundreds of high school football players formally declare their college of choice. Ohio State signed 18 players, including two quarterbacks, two running backs, AND three defensive linemen. The Buckeyes signed nine in-state players, while Michigan signed 10 players from Ohio. Former Buckeye and NFL quarterback Mike Tomczak looks to help young athletes and their families in the decision-making process. Tomczak was a three-year starter who led the Buckeyes to a Big Ten championship and a Rose Bowl berth in 1984. He later earned a spot with the Chicago Bears and played 15 NFL seasons. Tomczak currently speaks for the National Collegiate Scouting Association, which seeks to educate everyone involved in the recruiting process. Tomczak says athletes should make a decision based on the school and academics. He tells Mike Foley recruiting has changed significantly over the years.
