Former CCS Substitute Sentenced For Showing Controversial Film

New York Post

A former Columbus City Schools substitute teacher convicted of showing a movie including graphic sex and violence to a high school class has been sentenced to 90 days in jail. 58-year-old Sheila Kearns will serve three years' probation, with the jail time a condition of her probation. She says she did not watch the movie before showing it to her Spanish classes at  East High School in April 2013. The movie has 26 chapters, each depicting some form of grisly death, such as "E is for Exterminate."

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
