A former Hilliard investment adviser was sentenced Thursday to five years in prison for orchestrating a Ponzi scheme that bilked investors out of more than 1.5 million dollars over five years. Jeffrey Kelly ran the scheme from 2006 to 2011 from his local businesses. Prosecutors say Kelly promised customers he would invest in financial products, but spent their money on personal and business expenses.
