Former Clerk Smalley Pleads Guilty

Former Fairfield County Clerk of Courts Deborah Smalley has pleaded guilty to charges of stealing nearly 121 thousand dollars in salaries paid to county employees who worked on the Republican's political campaigns. Prosecutors dismissed 11 remaining charges against Smalley. Sentencing is scheduled for September 23rd.  Smalley's husband Dave has pleaded not guilty to similar charges and will be tried in September.
