Former Fairfield County Jail Inmate Claims She Was Sexually Abused Behind Bars

A former Fairfield County Jail inmate is suing two guards, the county Sheriff and county commissioners, alleging she was sexually by one of the guards in 2015. The female former inmate also claims the other guard did nothing when it happened, and the culture at the jail fostered the problem. The suit claims the Sheriff and commissioners failed to properly supervise and discipline the guards. She was a high-school student at the time who was being held on drug charges. The suit also says she jailed earlier this year in retaliation for complaining about her assault. The plaintiffs have yet to comment.
