Madison County Sheriff's Office

Bond is set at 500 thousand dollars for former Mount Sterling administrator Joseph Johnson, who is charged with stealing nearly 1 million dollars from the village. Johnson pleaded not guilty yesterday to 30 counts, including grand theft and money laundering. Johnson is accused of using the village's credit cards to buy cars, guns and other personal items.
