Former Perry Township Trustee Gets Life In Prison In Murder-For-Hire Plot

Geauga County Sheriff's Office

A judge has sentenced a Logan County man convicted of ordering a hit from his prison cell on a witness against him to life in prison. 60-year-old former Perry Township trustee Joe Rosebrook was convicted of hiring someone to kill 31-year-old Daniel Ott in 2006. The two were allegedly involved in a car-theft ring. Prosecutors say Rosebrook hired Ott to kill a man cooperating with authorities investigating the ring. Ott went to authorities instead. Prosecutors say Rosebrook then conspired with fellow inmate Chad South to kill Ott. South is serving a 28-year prison sentence. Rosebrook's trial was held in Geauga County.
