Former Ottawa County Sheriff Bob Bratton has been fined one thousand dollars for misspending government funds. Bratton pleaded guilty earlier this year to improperly spending more than 5 thousand in federal funds earmarked for law enforcement needs. Bratton must also serve one year's probation. Prosecutors say he spent some of the money on personal items including clothing, prescription medicine and amusement park tickets.
