Former Somali Military Official To Face Federal Judge
A Federal District Judge in Columbus has scheduled a May hearing on claims for damages against a former Somali military colonel who left the U.S. while facing civil allegations of torturing a human rights advocate.
It will mark the first time allegations brought against Colonel Abdi Aden Magan will be heard in court. Magan was found responsible last year for torturing Abukar Hassan Ahmed in the 1980s. Magan lived for several years in Ohio.
