Former Village Treasurer Charged With Theft

The former clerk-treasurer in the Clark County village of Enon is charged with theft in office and tampering with evidence.Debra Maurer is accused of stealing nearly 40-thousand dollars from the Village, then altering records to hide the theft. She was charged Thursday following an investigation by state and county officials that was launched in October. Her term expired last March.
