Former Westerville Teacher Charged With Faking Husband's Death

Westerville Police

A former Westerville schools teacher has been indicted on forgery, records tampering and theft in office charges for allegedly faking her husband’s death. Christine Gill took paid leave in 2013 claiming her husband had a brain tumor. She then took a part time job with Columbus schools in part because other Westerville teachers donated their paid leave. Gill told officials her husband passed away and police say Gill forged his death certificate.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
