Founder Of Two Columbus Charter Schools Sentenced For Stealing State Money

Columbus Division of Police

The founder of two closed Columbus charter schools will serve five years' probation and make 75 hundred dollars restitution to the state for money he stole from the schools. Andre Tucker was found guilty in October of stealing the state money earmarked for the schools, and using it for personal expenses. Tucker founded the Talented Tenth Leadership Acadamies, which were closed by the state after records were either missing or unreviewable.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
