Fracking Protestors Removed From Public Forum
100 protesters were escorted from a public forum in Athens last night over a fracking wasetwater disposal well.
The group chanted and shouted its opposition to the proposed well during what state wildlife officials had called an "open house" on the proposal. The group was angry that officials decided to conduct the public forum instead of a formal hearing where their statements would become part of the official record. Some of the Athens County residents fear the proposed well could contaminate drinking water. The state says that risk is minor.
