Franklin Township Voters Restore Third-Shift Police Service

Franklin Township voters on Tuesday approved a five-year, 4.1 mill tax levy to fund the restoration of third-shift police officers. The township laid off those officers last year to balance its budget. The levy was placed on the ballot after residents asked for the service to be reinstated. The service will start next year. The measure will fund at least five full-time third-shift officers, increasing the department’s total to 11.
