Free Christmas Tree Pickup In Columbus

Dec 28, 2012

The City of Columbus says the Rumpke company will pick up Christmas trees at the curb free of charge.

The city says the trees must be set out by 6 a.m. on the day when yard waste is collected. The city says residents may also take their trees to one of Rumpke's nine yard-waste drop-off locations. Trees must be free of lights, ornaments, tinsel or other decorations, and must be cut in half if they are 8 feet or taller. Fire prevention expert Allen Robnet says it's a good idea to get rid of the tree before it dries out.
