Funds To Improve Access To Services For Elderly

Ohio is giving more than $3 million to local communities to help transport the elderly and disabled. The Ohio Department of Transportation says the money will be used to buy new vehicles and equipment. The new equipment will help provide access to medical appointments, employment, grocery shopping, banking and other services. More than 63 nonprofit agencies and organizations in 36 Ohio counties are receiving the funds including Heritage Day Health Centers and Netcare Corporation in Franklin County.
