A funeral service is scheduled Saturday for a former Columbus and Athens resident killed while serving as a sheriff's deputy in Missouri.31-year-old Christopher Parsons was shot and killed last weekend. Deputies say he was helping put an unconscious woman in an ambulance when her son came out of a mobile home and opened fired with a rifle. The man is now charged with murder.
