Competitive gaming will have a permanent home in Columbus as a company plans to build an arena dedicated to video game tournaments and events.
Major League Gaming will build a 14-thousand square-foot facility along Citygate Drive near Stelzer Road and Port Columbus. In addition to tournaments, the venue will host events and serve as a base for the company's online video network. Major League Gaming officials say they chose Columbus in part because of the large number of colleges in central Ohio. Columbus has also hosted past league events. The first event scheduled at the new arena takes place October 24th through the 26th.
