Columbus, OH – The Democratic candidate for governor has had a tough few years in office, and this election year promises to be just as difficult, even without a budget battle to fight right now. The Republican candidate for governor, John Kasich, continues to push the idea of phasing out Ohio's graduated state income tax and making the state a better place to do business. Last week Ohio Public Radio's Karen Kasler and Bill Cohen talked to Kasich about that. This week they talked with Ted Strickland about taxes and the business climate in Ohio, which has lost hundreds of thousands of jobs in recent years and has an unemployment rate at a 25-year high.

That's Democratic candidate for governor Ted Strickland, who's running for his second term. The full half-hour interview with the governor will be featured this weekend on "The State of Ohio" which airs on PBS stations statewide.
